Unbridled capitalism at its best. Harried shoppers fighting over this seasons must-have items. Nintendo Wii's and digital cameras flying off the shelves while children scream for more and more. Why do we put ourselves through this every year? Why do we rush to the call of Sale! 50% off! and Buy One Get One Free! How did a quite shopping trip with the family to pick out gifts for each other turn into soccer moms beating each other up over the last Elmo doll? Do we really need to be shopping for electronics at 4am? Is 10 dollars off really worth 20 bucks worth of gas driving to every store to find the best sale of the day?
Watch these crazy shoppers rush the store. I spent Black Friday sleeping off my Turkey hangover. After finally dragging my now-10lbs-heavier butt out of bed and into the shower I realized that if I did my shopping online I could narrow down my trips to the store. I found all the deals online that I needed, and narrowed my shopping to two stores. I left the house in the late afternoon, found ample parking, stores busy but not overcrowded, and managed to snag every item I needed at a price that was well below what I would normally find. What did I honestly miss out on that those morons purchased at 5am?
