Add another
Republican Congressman's name to the growing list of retirees. Why the exodus of Republicans? Well most of these Congressman come from some heavily contested areas, so perhaps it's fear of losing crucial seats in the coming 2008 election.
I think that a quick election process would favor the Republicans in these areas, so instead of waiting for the general election, the republicans are pre-emptively trying to solidify a few key states before the upcoming Presidential election.
